Nico - 9lbs 11oz (a whole pound more than what I guessed him at!), 47%. 20.5" long, 48%.
Lucas - 10lbs 4oz, 64%. 20.5" long, 48%.
Both are very healthy with no more RSV! I have to do neck stretches with Lucas like I did with Mateo, as he has a tendency to only turn to the right. (I turned down doing physical therapy since I've done that before and feel confident about what to do.) I think I'll do some of the stretches with Nico, too, because he doesnt seem to like turning his head in any direction.
Lucas also has what I'm calling a "Nemo ear." One of his ears is slightly malformed and too small, but it's strictly a cosmetic issue. Only plastic surgery will fix it, but that seems silly. When he's an adult he can make that decision for himself, and really it's not that bad.
And I'm marking the date - 2 months and 1 day - because on that day within an hour of each other they each smiled real smiles! They coo a wee bit now and then and loosely bat at my nose if I get close. They eat about every 3.5 to 4 hours and are sleeping less, but I think Rafi and I are sleeping more.
Mateo is still doing great at school. He's obsessed with playing Mario Kart on the Wii and is willing to do any chore you throw at him in order to earn playing time. His 5th birthday is approaching, as he has requested a redo of his birthday party last year but with more focus on Yoshi (a Super Mario Bros. character). So, that's what will happen. He's still very happy at his school. This unit they are learning about types of communication. At home he speaks of cave drawings (they made their own with pieces of burnt wood) and practices the sign language he learned at school. He loves his baby brothers and likes to hug on them - briefly in between Mario Kart breaks. :)
And that's about it on the home front. After a year of neglect due to the extreme drought, heat, and me bring sooo pregnant with the twins, we are starting work to catch our house up. Lots of repairs, cleaning, and yard work to be done.
Happy 2012!
